If you don’t see the Priority field, your Jira admin may need to enable it in the Field Configuration settings.

  1. Open the Task issue you want to change.
  2. Click the ‘More’ button (•••) in the top-right corner.

  4. Choose the same project and select Bug as the new issue type.
  5. Click Next, review the field mappings, and adjust them if needed.
  6. Click Confirm to complete the change.

How to close a defect in Jira?

To close a defect in Jira, follow these steps:

  1. Open the defect (bug) issue you want to close.
  2. Click on the workflow status (e.g., ‘In Progress’ or ‘Resolved’).
  3. Select ‘Close’ from the available transition options.
  4. Fill in any required fields (e.g., resolution reason, comments).
  5. Click Confirm or Done to finalize the closure.

If you don’t see the Close option, your Jira workflow may need an update by an admin to include a closing transition.

  1. Open the Task and click More (•••) > Clone to duplicate it.
  2. In the cloned issue, change the Issue Type to Bug.
  3. Link the cloned Bug to the original Task for reference.
  4. Close or delete the original Task if necessary.

How to change a priority in Jira with QA Touch?

To change the priority of a Jira issue using QA Touch’s Jira integration:

  1. Go to the Jira integrated project in QA Touch.
  2. Navigate to the Test Runs or Defects module.
  3. Locate the Jira issue linked to the test execution.
  4. Click on the Jira issue link to open it in Jira.
